    Prime Minister Imran Khan addresses meeting with Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Lahore (01.12.18) #PrimeMinisterImranKhan Prime Minister Imran Khan says foreign investors have shown growing interest to invest in Pakistan due to immense market potential of the country and improved governance. Addressing a delegation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lahore on Saturday evening, the Prime Minister said mammoth international brands have started investing in the country due to increased confidence on government's policies. He said Japanese automaker Suzuki is going to invest 450 million dollars, while beverage brands Pepsi 800 and Coca Cola 500 million dollars into the country. He said the return of ExxonMobil to the country after a lapse of 27 million years is a testament to the fact that Pakistan is an attractive destination for foreign capital. The Prime Minister said a Chinese automaker Foton JW in a joint venture with a Pakistani company will set up a complete vehicle manufacturing plant with an investment millions of dollars. Imran Khan said Pakistani businessmen can exploit many opportunities globally to increase their exports. In this regard, he referred to 2000 million dollar Halal industry in which Pakistani businessmen can contribute by exporting the halal meat products worldwide. He said government is giving all out facilities to exporters for increasing the exports of the country. The Prime Minister said the existing foreign remittances are to the tune of 20 billion dollars at present and can be enhanced to 30 billion dollars by giving more incentives. The Prime Minister said we are establishing a special office to facilitate Ease of Doing Business for investors. Imran Khan said money laundering is causing a loss of 10 billion dollars to the country annually. He said we are bringing legislation next week to initiate a major clampdown against this menace. The Prime Minister said more than 120 million youth in this country are an asset for us and the world sees them a big market for their products as well as recruiting ground for employment opportunities.

    Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterates commitment to resolve Kashmir issue through dialogue (30.11.18) #PrimeMinisterImranKhan #Kashmir Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday reiterated his government’s commitment to resolve the Kashmir issue through dialogue as nuclear powers could not afford war. “It is my earnest desire and effort to resolve the Kashmir issue through dialogue as it will bring peace and prosperity to the entire region,” he said while interacting with the Indian media here at the Prime Minister’s Office. The prime minister said Pakistan wanted peace in the region as it was the only way forward but expressed regret over the Indian government’s reaction to Pakistan’s initiatives for peace in the region. He said presently his government, state institutions, including the army, and political leadership were on the same page and there was consensus on efforts being made to reach peace with India but unfortunately the reaction from across the border had derailed the initiative. “Pakistan’s approach is positive but India will have to bring change in its mindset,” the prime minister said. “We have given an open invitation to India and it is now up to them how they respond.” The one-sided game, however, could not continue for a long time and the Indian side would have to come forward in that regard, he added. Imran Khan said he cited the example of Germany and France in his speech at Kartarpur as both the countries had got benefitted from peace and normalization of ties. “The best way to alleviate poverty and uplift the people of subcontinent is to resolve our differences through dialogue and start trading,” he added. He said it was his belief to alleviate poverty and make Pakistan a welfare state but for all that there was a need for peace and without it, the country’s situation could not be improved. About the killing of Kashmiris by the Indian troops and gross human rights violations in the occupied valley, the prime minister said the Indian government should not treat the Kashmir issue merely as a territorial dispute rather a humanitarian one. To a question, he said it was not in Pakistan’s interest to have its territory used for terrorism outside the country. Pakistan could not afford it. The Pakistan-Afghan border was being fenced to stop infiltration of terrorists, he added. He said Pakistan was trying to improve relations with both Afghanistan and India. About action against Jammat-u-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, the prime minister said the organization was already under sanctions, while the issue of Mumbai attack was sub-judice. To a question, he said the present government would provide facilities to Indian pilgrims as it would encourage religious tourism.

    Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan Media Talk with visiting Indian Journalists in Islamabad (30.11.18) #PrimeMinisterImranKhan Prime Minister Imran Khan has said India will have to respond to Pakistan's peaceful gestures in order to move forward to address the longstanding disputes. Talking to the Indian media persons in Islamabad, he said one sided efforts cannot bear any fruit. Prime Minister said he has approached India from day one in office saying that his country will take two steps if New Delhi takes one to improve ties. He, however regretted that the Indian response has so far been disappointing. He said he felt India’s lack of response to Pakistan’s outreach seemed to be governed by electoral calculations. He said there is complete consensus in Pakistan for developing better relations with India. Imran Khan said dialogue is the only option for Pakistan and India to move forward on the path of peace. He stressed there should be no pre conditions for dialogue as it will mean there is no intention for peace. The Prime Minister pointed out that Kashmir is the only core issue between the two countries. He said the solution of this problem is possible provided the leadership of both the countries demonstrate will towards that end. He stressed that there are great dividends of peace between the two neighboring countries. He said the resolution of Kashmir dispute will benefit the whole sub-continent as it open the region for trade and economic activities. Imran Khan said both Pakistan and India are nuclear powered states and they can not afford any confrontation. He said it will be his utmost effort to normalize relations both with India and Afghanistan. On Kartarpur Corridor, Prime Minister said it was the long standing demand of Sikh community. He said we are also ready to facilitate Hindu and Budh pilgrims to visit their holiest sites in Pakistan. Responding to a question, the Prime Minister said it is not in our interest to have the territory to be used against any other country. He said India has not changed its mindset regarding allegations of terrorism against Pakistan. Imran Khan said Pakistan has developed a national action plan with consensus of all political parties. This plan is aimed at ensuring that no armed group is allowed to operate from our soil. وزیراعظم عمران خان نے کہا ہے کہ بھارت کو دیرینہ تنازعات کے حل کیلئے آگے بڑھنے کے تناظر میں پاکستان کی پرامن پیشکش کا مثبت جواب دینا ہوگا۔اسلام آباد میں بھارتی صحافیوں سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ یکطرفہ کوششیں باآور ثابت نہیں ہوں گی۔وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ انہوں نے اقتدار سنبھالتے ہی بھارت سے یہ کہنا شروع کر دیا تھا کہ اگر بھارت تعلقات میں بہتری لانے کے لئے ایک قدم اٹھائے گا تو میرا ملک دو قدم اٹھائے گا۔ وزیراعظم نے کہاکہ بھارت کے ساتھ بہتر تعلقا ت قائم کرنے کے لئے پاکستان میں مکمل اتفاق رائے پایا جاتا ہے۔عمران خان نے کہاکہ پاکستان اور بھارت کے پاس امن کے لئے آگے بڑھنے کا واحدراستہ بات چیت ہے۔انہوں نے زور دیا کہ مذاکرات کے لئے پیشگی شرائط نہیں رکھی جانی چاہئیں کیونکہ اس کا محض یہ مطلب ہوگا کہ امن قائم کرنے کی کوئی نیت ہے۔وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ کشمیر دونوں ملکوں کے درمیان واحد اہم مسئلہ ہے انہوں نے کہا کہ اس مسئلے کے حل کیلئے دونوں ملکوں کی قیادت کو جذبہ ظاہر کرنا ہوگا۔ عمران خان نے زور دیا کہ دونوں ہمسایہ ممالک کے درمیان امن کے قیام کے بے پناہ فوائد ہیں انہوں نے کہا کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل سے پورے برصغیر کو فائدہ ہوگا کیونکہ اس سے تجارتی اور اقتصادی سرگرمیوں کی راہیں کھلیں گی۔
